Hospital stay, October ’21

Hey, Y’all. I am so sorry I’ve been MIA for so long! SO here’s my little (very long) life update! So, end of September Greyson and I finally moved out into our very own cute little apartment! We were so excited to finally get our own place where no one can bug us LOL. It’s been so good to have our own home and be our own couple for once in our entire relationship. So we started there and things were going great! Cleaning, unpacking, cooking, and just living together was so special. But, little did we know what craziness was about to happen in our wonderful time of togetherness. Day 4 of moving in I started to get really sick. Wasn’t feeling right, caught a little cold and just didn’t even feel alive and some points. I then took myself to the ER cause I needed quick and easy test results so I could know what’s going on cause I was so sure I was getting covid. Turns out I wasn’t so they started treating me for a UTI and admitted me that night into a new hospital I had never been to. So next couple days come around and I was still so miserable. Fever got up to 102.8, BP was out the roof, and pain in my kidney was just not tolerable. So what do they do? Yup, you guessed it, they SEND. ME. HOME. I was livid but mostly just so sick I couldn’t even fend for myself I was getting so sick. The next morning I call my favorite doctor (we will call him Dr. Care. I called Dr. Care and he was upset as well that they sent me home in the state that I was. He then sent me to MCD ER to get covid tested and make sure I was okay to be admitted, yet again. I get admitted later that night and it was just the start of craziness. We found out I have pneumonia, and kidney rejection. We didn’t start with the kidney yet cause we wanted to get the fluid in my lungs out and stable. The next day, Dr. Care does a bronc on me and clears all the fluids out of my lungs and sends them out for tests. Got my bronc, got some rest, and the next morning we started on next step, testing the kidney. My kidney has been such a miracle, along with the wonderful woman who donated it to me. Pat- my kidney, has been so good to me. It’s gotten me 11 years I may never have had if it wasn’t for all my amazing doctors, support system, and of course, my donor. We’ve been doing test after test and watching numbers like crazy, but tough luck over here indicates that my little Pat-the kidney is in fact in kidney rejection. We sent out this cool test called AlloSure to see what stage I am in and how we can keep it going a little bit longer. Starting Monday we go in full Kidney mode. Biopsy, lab results, and perfect care until we can get this guy under control. So, after this extremely long book about my life update, here I am. Medical City just taking it day by day. God knows the timing and I know I’m in his hands and he’s taking over the doctors hands as well. Please be sure to comment, ask questions, or just follow along on my bumpy ride! As always, buckle up, stay safe, and pray!
